{"id":122,"date":"2007-04-27T21:59:04","date_gmt":"2007-04-28T02:59:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.nynaeve.net\/?p=122"},"modified":"2019-12-13T17:38:38","modified_gmt":"2019-12-13T22:38:38","slug":"new-windbg-6750-released","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.nynaeve.net\/?p=122","title":{"rendered":"New WinDbg (6.7.5.0) released"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It&#8217;s <a title=\"WinDbg\" href=\"http:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/whdc\/devtools\/debugging\">finally here<\/a> &#8211; WinDbg 6.7.5.0.<\/p>\n<p>I haven&#8217;t gotten around to trying out <em>all<\/em> of the new goodies yet, but there are some nice additions.  For one, <em>.fnent<\/em> now decodes unwind information in a more meaningful way on x64 (although it still doesn&#8217;t understand C scope table entries, making it less useful than <a title=\"SDbgExt 1.09 released (support for displaying x64 EH data)\" href=\"http:\/\/www.nynaeve.net\/?p=94\">SDbgExt&#8217;s !fnseh<\/a> if that is what you were interested in.<\/p>\n<p>Looks like they&#8217;ve finally gotten around to signing WinDbg.exe too (though, curiously, not the .msi the installer extracts), so the elevation prompts for WinDbg are now of the more friendlier sort instead of the &#8220;this program will destroy your computer&#8221; sort.<\/p>\n<p>There is also reportedly source server support for CVS included; I imagine that I&#8217;ll be taking a stab at that again now that it is supposedly fully baked now.<\/p>\n<p>In other news, the blog (and DNS) will be moving to a more ideal hosting location (read: not my apartment) as early as this weekend (if all goes according to plan, that is).  It&#8217;ll be moving to a yummy new quad core Xeon box (with a real connection), a nice step up from the <a title=\"Nothing a little cardboard won't fix...\" href=\"http:\/\/www.nynaeve.net\/?p=26\">original hardware<\/a> that it has been running on until a short while ago (good riddance).
